LOX | NEVER LOSE ANOTHER EARRING

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a selection of the most common questions we get asked about LOXbut should you not see your question here, please get in touch and we will get back to you as soon as possible earring backs, .

  • LOX are really easy to apply and remove. They are different to conventional butterfly backs, and so it is essential that you read the instructions and practise using them before you wear them. Some users who have reduced movement or grip in their fingers might struggle as LOX need to be squeezed to be removed.

  • No! LOX are designed to fit 99% of posts. However, we always advise testing LOX on the earring before you wear it to make sure.

  • Every LOX is hand-assembled and tested, so it is unlikely to be faulty. If LOX comes off easily then it is likely that it was not applied properly. In this situation, it is advisable to follow the instructions in the pack or to watch the video. Also, it is essential to practise using LOX before they are worn the first time. This ensures that the technique for applying and removing them is correct.

  • LOX remain secure while swimming and do not discolour.

  • Lots of customers use LOX on screw posts. They are fine as long as the diameter of the post is less than 1mm thick.

  • Although LOX were not designed for hook-type earrings they will work - providing the wire is not too thick. However, they might be visible as there is normally not enough space behind the ear for them to fit snugly.

  • The stud posts used in tragus piercings tend to be shorter, so LOX might struggle to grip the post properly.

  • No, LOX are not suitable for lever backs as they do not need earring backs.

  • LOX are discreet and will be no more visible than a traditional earring back.

  • LOX can be used on any stud earring providing the post is less than 1mm in diameter. However, children might be more inclined to play with their earrings than adults. If LOX are released, then they are no longer secure and need to be reapplied. Children may be less aware of the need to do this and therefore more likely to lose their earrings. It’s a good idea to let children practise using LOX before they wear them, so they understand how they work.

  • Yes! LOX are as at least as comfortable as normal earring backs to sleep in.

  • LOX will keep earrings in place more securely than most other earring backs - In fact they were tested to hold the weight of a house brick! However, while LOX will reduce the amount that very heavy earrings can slip and droop, it is not guaranteed that they can stop this completely.

  • LOX are made from an inert plastic (the part that makes contact with the ear) and stainless steel (which doesn’t make contact with the ear only the earring post).

  • No. If the plastic part has come off then it is likely that LOX have been damaged or used incorrectly. It is advised that the instructions are followed before they are used for the first time.

  • This should not happen and suggests that it has been damaged. It is advisable to read the instructions inside the LOX pack and watch the video to ensure that the technique for applying and removing them is correct.
